One of our most popular episodes is back.
In this powerful conversation, Richard Ramos sits down with Juan Avila, Chief Operating Officer of Garden Pathways, to talk about mentorship, relationships, community, and the difference one caring adult can make in a young person's life.
Juan has spent more than two decades working with youth and adults impacted by violence, incarceration, and poverty. His experience has shown him that young people need more than programs and resources.
They need people who believe in them.
This conversation explores what happens when we stop defining young people by their mistakes and start looking at their potential.
In This Episode
• Why one caring relationship can change a child's direction
• The power of mentorship and positive role models
• Understanding the deeper causes of youth violence
• Why connection and trust matter
• How parents and mentors can work together
• Breaking cycles of poverty and incarceration
• Helping young people discover hope and purpose
• Why showing up can make a lasting difference
If you are a parent, mentor, teacher, coach, or someone who cares about the next generation, this is an episode worth revisiting.
Sometimes a young person does not need another lecture.
They need someone who believes in them.
