In this episode of the Retro Resolution podcast, hosts Dylan and Matt discuss their recent retro gaming activities, including Matt's playthrough of the Konami DS survival game Lost in Blue on an Ambernic dual-screen device and Dylan's time with Suikoden II on his new Retroid Pocket Nova. Dylan makes a shocking confession that he broke down and bought an Analogue 3D despite past frustrations with Analogue, impressed by its new features like 480p locking and auto-overclocking. Matt also reveals he pre-ordered the new Neo Geo system in white, fulfilling a childhood dream, and bought a 161-in-1 multicart whose price is climbing due to demand. The conversation wraps up with discussion of the Superstation dock, an incoming Game Bub FPGA handheld, the perils of aftermarket replacement shells for handhelds, and nostalgic memories of arcades.

This week Matt and Dylan return from their hiatus to talk DS gaming and the philosophical question of what makes a remaster or remake still "retro." Along the way they discuss new handhelds like the Retroid Pocket Nova, the GameNative launcher, an early Xbox 360 emulator for Android, and the handy FinalROM tool for cleaning up 3DS and Switch files. Matt also shares his disappointing original Xbox emulation experiment, and the episode teases a heavier Part 2 covering the end of physical media and the uncertain future of video games.
