  • 121. Has the Online Course Bubble Burst?
    2026/03/26

Once seen as an easy way to make a passive income, have online courses become a thing of the past with AI? In this episode, I'm digging into how the online course industry has shifted dramatically — and what we can do as creators to adapt.

I take you back through the rise of online courses, from my early days of unlisted YouTube videos and PowerPoint walkthroughs to the proliferation of platforms like Teachable, Kajabi, and Thinkific.

With course completion rates sitting at just 3–6%, the promise of passive income rarely matched reality for most of us.

And then came AI. When tools like ChatGPT can summarise an entire course sales page in seconds for free, the traditional "gated expertise" model just doesn't hold up the way it once did and what your options are in the future.

    In this episode I cover:

    • Why the classic $997 course with 55 videos and 37 worksheets has had its day
    • The growing value of community, personalisation, and accountability over content alone
    • How certification-backed courses continue to grow and why I'm still running ads in that space
    • Using tools like Chatbase, Voiceflow, or Botpress to turn your existing course content into an AI-powered bot
    • The platform Skool as a space for community-led learning
    • Why showing up as yourself is your biggest competitive advantage in an AI-driven world

In this episode of Real Fabulous Marketing, we dive into what the Netflix dating show Love Is Blind can unexpectedly teach us about marketing strategy.

We look at how going in with rigid preconceived ideas about your customers, your offers, and what people want, can hold your business back from finding its "perfect match."

Tune in to learn how co-design can open your eyes to what your customers actually want, and how a simple conversation with five people could transform your next offer.

  • 119. 2026: The Year of the Badass Business Woman
    2026/02/19

I am so excited to be back behind the mic and what better way to return than by declaring 2026 the Year of the Badass Business Woman.

With the shift into the Year of the Fire Horse, there’s this undeniable energy of stepping up, stepping forward, and stepping fully into who we’re meant to be. If you’re a woman over 40 running your own business—especially here in Australia—this episode is your rally cry.

We’re talking about what it really means to be “badass” , how sustainability is overtaking scalability in business, and why setting unapologetic boundaries might just be your biggest power move this year.

This isn’t about hustling harder. It’s about being tough, uncompromising, knowing your values and maybe just a little intimidating in the best possible way.

Press play if you’re ready to stop playing small, stop putting up with low rates or crappy clients, and start running your business your way.

[2:18] – What “badass” actually means (and why I love this definition for us in 2026).

[5:40] – Women over 40 in business: why this phase of life is a powerful reckoning—and an opportunity.

[10:12] – Sustainability vs. scalability: why “hockey stick growth” isn’t the only path to success.

[15:27] – Deciding what you want (not what Instagram, your peers, or your past self wanted).

[19:44] – Values: bold, underlined, double-italicised—why clarity here changes everything.

[23:08] – Boundaries, burnout, and why stopping my podcast last year was actually an act of badassery.

[30:31] – My roller derby story and what it taught me about lifting other women up

    Until next time, stay fabulous.
