Message by: Scott Treadway Typical kings, queens, and monarchs live above the people in places of comfort and privilege, even as their subjects suffer. However, Jesus was and is with us, living with us, and even suffering with us. In fact, in the end, Jesus endured every possible form of suffering imaginable. So, on this Palm Sunday, we'll see the suffering of Jesus, then see through the suffering of Jesus to the resurrection where there is victory over suffering and victory over death itself.

Monarchs throughout history, and monarchs today are better known for cruelty than they are for mercy. God Himself has historically been portrayed as being cruel, broodingly overseeing obedience or disobedience, delivering reward and punishments. Jesus, however, shows that God is merciful and kind toward us all, especially toward those who once thought of God as cruel.
