What is the Astral Realm?

A dream that keeps its timeline. A sudden knowing you can’t justify. A room that feels occupied even when it’s empty. I’m digging into the astral realm through a simple metaphor that’s guided me for years: veils, overlapping layers of reality that we tune into through shifts in consciousness. When we’re stressed and reactive, perception gets dense. When we soften, create, meditate, or drop into presence, the veil can lift just enough to reveal what we couldn’t register before.

From there, I get practical about astral senses. Not everyone “sees” spirits or symbols, and that doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. You might hear, feel, or simply know. We talk about common doorways like dreaming, lucid dreaming, trance, shamanic journeying, intuition, and even imagination as an interface. I also share why I separate remote viewing, astral projection, and astral travel, and how those distinctions change the way I prepare and interpret what happens.

We widen the lens with respectful comparisons across human history, from Indigenous vision traditions and trance practices to the modern Western occult revival that popularized the term astral plane. I touch on scientific research into altered states of consciousness, then bring it back to discernment and spiritual protection. The astral can include guides, ancestors, and power animals, but also thought forms, tricksters, and energies that don’t deserve automatic authority. Grounding, shielding, clear intention, and a clean return matter.
