In this episode of The Brain Bus: Tiny Explorers, children aged 2–4 discover that white sunlight has every color of the rainbow hiding inside it - and that raindrops are what pull those colors apart. It runs around 15 minutes and is designed for little listeners in the car seat.

Nova guides tiny explorers through the science of rainbows in gentle, picture-book language - from the idea that sunlight is like all the crayons squished into one, to the reason a rainbow always shows its colors in the same order. Kids learn that a rainbow is actually a full circle, that you can never walk to its end, and hear the Irish story of why leprechauns hide gold there. Perfect as a screen-free quiet time activity on a long drive, this toddler podcast episode gives even the youngest listeners real facts wrapped in warmth. A road challenge invites everyone in the car to name an imaginary new color, making it a genuinely shared family moment.

What You'll Discover:
• White sunlight contains every rainbow color hidden inside it
• Raindrops bend and separate light to reveal those colors
• Rainbow colors always appear in the same order: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple
• A rainbow is actually a full circle - we only see the bottom half from the ground
• You can never reach the end of a rainbow because it moves as you walk toward it

All concepts are introduced through gentle imagery and repetition suited to ages 2–4, the leprechaun folklore is framed warmly and respectfully as an Irish story passed down over generations, and there is nothing in this episode that requires a parent to be present to manage.

The road challenge - naming an imaginary color nobody has ever seen - works especially well when the whole car plays along together at a red light or on a long stretch of highway.
