  • Damn You Hollywood: Primetime (2026)
    2026/09/29
Tonight on Damn You Hollywood we are reviewing Primetime starring Robert Pattinson. Directed by Lance Oppenheim, the film turns Chris Hansen and To Catch a Predator into a story about journalism, entertainment, and ambition. Hansen’s televised stings made him famous, but the pursuit of a Texas prosecutor who never came to the sting house ended in tragedy and raised questions about how closely a news crew should work with police. Pattinson plays a man who believes he is doing good even as ratings, recognition, and the need for a bigger catch shape his decisions. How much of that portrait is documented, and how much is the movie’s invention? We discuss the performances, the film’s uneasy visual style, its treatment of the real Bill Conradt case, and the line between exposing wrongdoing and turning punishment into a spectacle. Join us as we ask whether Primetime has something useful to say about media ethics, or whether its own appetite for drama gets in the way.

  • Triple Feature: Walk Hard - The Dewey Cox Story/Weird - The Al Yankovic Story/CB4
    2026/10/06
Tonight on Triple Feature we're looking at music biopic parodies, Walk Hard - The Dewey Cox Story, Weird The Al Yankovic Story and CB4. Walk Hard takes decades of musician mythology and stuffs it all into Dewey Cox, a man who experiences seemingly every triumph, tragedy, addiction and reinvention available to a recording artist. Weird takes the opposite approach, turning the famously mild life of “Weird Al” Yankovic into the kind of sex-and-drugs melodrama Hollywood thinks a music legend requires. And CB4 follows three aspiring rappers who discover that talent isn’t enough when audiences are buying authenticity, so they manufacture a gangster mythology to sell along with the music. Together, the films raise a question that goes beyond parody: do music biopics keep telling the same story because Hollywood lacks imagination, or because fame, money, excess and insulation keep producing different versions of the same life? Tonight we’re following the music, the mythology and the machine that creates both.

  • Damn You Hollywood: Digger (2026)
    2026/10/06
Tonight on Damn You Hollywood we are reviewing Digger starring Tom Cruise. Directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Digger casts Cruise as Digger Rockwell, a fabulously wealthy oil magnate whose business empire has helped create an environmental catastrophe. Convinced that he is uniquely capable of fixing the crisis, Rockwell sets out to save the world while protecting his fortune, his reputation and the story he tells about himself. Cruise trades the controlled action-hero persona of his recent blockbusters for prosthetics, dark comedy and a character built around ego, ambition and the belief that enormous power makes him indispensable. The supporting cast includes Riz Ahmed, Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons and Emma D’Arcy. Tonight we’ll discuss Cruise’s transformation, Iñárritu’s direction, the film’s satire of wealth and corporate power, and whether Digger successfully turns one of the world’s biggest movie stars into the punchline of his own apocalyptic comedy.

  • On Trial: The Social Network
    2026/10/09
Tonight we're putting The Social Network, directed by David Fincher and written by Aaron Sorkin, On Trial.
Released in 2010, this biographical drama stars Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg, Andrew Garfield as Eduardo Saverin, Justin Timberlake as Sean Parker, and Armie Hammer as the Winklevoss twins.
In 2003, 19-year-old Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg turns a campus social experiment into Facebook, eventually building a multibillion-dollar empire while alienating friends, attracting lawsuits, and redefining human interaction.
But beneath the story of technological innovation lies something more troubling: male insecurity, social status, the objectification of women, and the commodification of human relationships.
Sixteen years after its release, does Fincher's examination of ambition, betrayal, and digital validation remain a masterpiece of modern filmmaking, or does its dramatization of real events undermine its credibility?
Join us as we put The Social Network On Trial.

  • Sessions Vol 2: YOU Season 1 (YOU Are Not Your Trauma)
    2026/10/12
Tonight on Sessions we're taking our season 1 review of YOU and turning it into a hard rock song about oversharing and trauma dumping called, "YOU Are Not Your Trauma."
What started as a favor to a friend went sideways: a conversation about Joe Goldberg and Paco turned into three grown men unpacking their childhoods on a public podcast. One confession led to another, and suddenly the host was running an impromptu group therapy session instead of reviewing television.
Daniel Goleman's Social Intelligence helps explain why. Emotions spread, vulnerability invites vulnerability, and other people shape what we dare to say. But there's a difference between connection and cornering someone who only asked how your day was going.
We take that tension—dark humor, damaged attachments, learned survival habits, and the possibility of change—and put it to guitars. You can carry what happened to you without letting it become everything you are.
This is a safe space. Public on the internet.

  • Damn You Hollywood: The Social Reckoning (2026)
    2026/10/13
Tonight on Damn You Hollywood, we are reviewing the sequel to The Social Network, The Social Reckoning. Written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, the film follows Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen (Mikey Madison) as she works with Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz (Jeremy Allen White) to expose what the company knew about its platform's effects on the public. Jeremy Strong takes over the role of Mark Zuckerberg as the story moves from the invention of a social network to the consequences of its success. We'll discuss the performances, Sorkin's writing and direction, the film's treatment of the Facebook Files, and how it compares with David Fincher's 2010 original. We'll also examine the questions behind the drama: What happens when technology changes society faster than society can adapt? Have we handed ordinary people the power to publish, surveil and punish without teaching them restraint? And can a platform built to connect us avoid making humiliation and outrage profitable?

Captain Christopher Pike and the crew of the USS Enterprise return for another season of strange encounters, personal struggles, and increasingly unconventional adventures. But has the series drifted too far from what made Star Trek special? Between puppets, fantasy role-playing, romantic melodrama, and endless emotional introspection, we're asking whether Strange New Worlds still delivers the scientific curiosity, philosophical debates, and moral dilemmas that defined the franchise. Does its willingness to experiment demonstrate creative ambition, or has Star Trek become more interested in exploring its characters' feelings than exploring strange new worlds? Join us as we break down the performances, writing, standout episodes, and questionable creative decisions of Season 4. We're boldly going where the franchise may no longer want to go: back to what makes Star Trek, Star Trek.
