    2026/02/23

After last week's pod title unfortunately turned out to be bang on the money we revisited the question of the goalkeeper.

After an absolute shocker of a week on the park we moved away from our usual format and basically had a moan-in for half of the episode. The keeper, the defence, the midfield and the forward line all get a bit of a shoeing as does the manager.

There is concern about the upcoming games, and we discuss what we think should happen if the results don't go our way. It's not a particularly upbeat episode

It was also a big week off the park, and Paul gives a first-hand account of the recent meeting between the Steering Group and the board. It doesn't lift the mood of the pod too much in fairness.

We head overseas for this week's RGC, as there really was no obvious candidate after an absolutely shocking week.

As always, thanks for your support. We really appreciate each and every listener, and if you have a hospitality box, offer it to someone else.

  • He's a fat b******d with one arm
    2026/02/16

Quite the week where Celtic appear to have forgotten that Scotland and Glasgow in particular has a problem with heart disease. The two games, Livi and Killie placed enormous strain on the hearts of our pod's target demographic but all's well that ends well.

We look back on both games and it's quite cheery in the main. Mind you there is then some discussion about players in the squad that potentially could let us down in the run in. (The episode title is a clue to one of them).

There's a look forward to this week's games and a call for some pragmatism ahead of the Stuttgart game if this week doesn't go our way.

There's some discussion about the upcoming meeting between the board and the Collective steering group as Paul will be one of the people in the room this week.

There's a film review and the host gets accused of being a grass.

A packed programme and no mistake

  • It's a big week
    2026/02/09

A week of big games not just for Celtic but our "baw tickling" rivals too.

We chat about Saturday's Great Escape, the return of The Free Broomloan and this week's league games against Livi and Killie. With our main rivals facing potentially tough games, it could be a pivotal week.

Mind you, we do emphasise that it's up to us to take care of our business.

There's a bit of reflection on the boycott and the possibility of a meeting between the board and the collective. It's fair to say we are all hoping for positive news on that front.

There's an RGC Award for the "Unknown Editor" and a Peruvian bear* comes in for some well-deserved abuse

  • It's been quite the few days...
    2026/02/05

It's fair to say that the last few days have been eventful after the Collective meeting on Tuesday night.

As two of our number were at the meeting and one of them is on the steering group we thought that we'd record a podcast discussing the events at the meeting, the fallout and what we maybe should be doing once Saturday is out the way.

  • World Class Basics is it?
    2026/02/02

Ah'll give ye world class basics

Recorded four hours before the transfer window "slammed shut," some of it may not date well, but depressingly, we suspect it will probably still be bang on the money.

We look back on two decent performances with decent results and then have a quick preview of the upcoming league and cup games.

We then discuss the transfer window, and it's fair to say that we're very much in the underwhelmed camp. It's been a while since we've got a window "right" and it's fair to say we don't think this one has been any different.

We've got a bit of a left field RGC but quietly applaud our "Wiki terrorist" listener

  • It could have been so much better...
    2026/01/26

In a Sweeney's Law heavy episode, Chris and Paul discuss our draws in Bologna and Edinburgh. Both with a sense of what could have been. Of course, it couldn't be a game against Hearts without their keeper and manager getting it tight.

We then go on to discuss the two home games this week, and that leads "nicely" into another discussion about the transfer window, which is very "deja vu" heavy.

We then have a chat about the upcoming collective meeting, which gets interrupted at one point by Amazon literally knocking on our door.

It's not as downbeat as previous weeks and had it not been for VAR, it might actually have been quite cheery.

As always, thank you all for your continued support and kind words

  • What a riddy - The sequel
    2026/01/19

    Another "What a riddy" episode.

We pick over the Falkirk game, but as we said last week, all that mattered was the three points. And we got them

Sunday's game joins Stranraer in 1988, Whitehill Welfare and a few other " cup classics" as embarrassing performances/results against lower league opposition.

Both of these things would be okay had we had a couple of new faces in the stand, or heaven forfend, actually on the pitch.

The transfer ineptitude is the main focus of the lads' ire, especially ahead of two huge games this week.

Mind you, there is some optimism about Sunday from one of the contributors, which is a welcome relief from what goes before.

  • We're having a Yang Bang
    2026/01/12

The episode title will make sense, but not until the very end of the recording.

It's a mixed bag tonight; technical issues forced us to restart the recording. Some Phil Collins-related GOLD fell by the wayside, much to the annoyance of our man in the east.

Paul gave us a bit of an update from last week's collective meeting. As you can imagine, Nancy getting bagged changed the mood at that meeting as it did on our podcast recording.

The two boys discuss Saturday's game against United and we asked Davie Farrell to drop in a voice note as we'd leaned on him quite a lot and thought it would be nice for him to be positive about a Celtic performance.

The positivity dissipated somewhat when we turned our attention to the transfer window. Let's just say there's not much confidence that whoever is pulling the strings at the moment will get the players we need through the door.

The pod finishes with another voice note from "Part-time Tim", Justin Moorhouse, one of the best comedians in the country and host of the Manchester United podcast "The Good Days Are Coming", who was at the game on Saturday, sitting with Chris.

You can decide who gets the RGC of the week from the people he mentions in the voice note
