RFC generico refers to a unique code that allows the seven (the Mexican tax authority) to issue invoices to customers who do not have an individual RFC or who do not wish to disclose their information during a purchase. There are two official generic RFC codes: XAXX010101000, for invoicing the general public in Mexico, and XEXX010101000, for invoicing residents living outside Mexico.
Unlike a personal RFC, the generic RFC does not correspond to any specific taxpayer and therefore cannot be used for tax filings or certain types of transactions. It may be used exclusively to generate CFDI invoices (fiscal receipts) when selling products to the general public, as deductions cannot be claimed against a generic RFC.
