For our fourth episode, we'll be telling a story called 'Vendetta at the Inn' . "A samurai staying at an inn is unable to sleep due to the loud guests in the adjoining room. He concocts a scheme: after eavesdropping on them, he stages a dramatic revenge scene, claiming one of the men is his father's murderer. Frightened into silence, the guests allow the samurai to sleep peacefully until morning. The walls of tenement houses at that time were incomparably thin compared to modern apartments, and the conversations and daily sounds of neighbors could be heard clearly.
