Wendy Brown got her start in real estate helping her dad manage in Kalispell, closing around 300 transactions in her first 18 months. Today she’s the managing broker for PureWest Christie’s International Real Estate in Kalispell and for SVN on the commercial side.

In our first remote episode of Pure Unfiltered, Wendy talks about why being involved in the industry makes her a better managing broker, what the Flathead Valley market has been like since 2020, and how pricing changed when the comps stopped making sense. She also shares why commercial real estate has her hooked, her work helping the Flathead County Library find new homes for its Kalispell and Columbia Falls branches, and why she believes great agents are problem solvers and connectors first.

Montana property taxes were confusing enough before this fall, when major changes to how primary homes and commercial properties are taxed took effect. For this week’s episode, we step outside the real estate world and sit down with Tyler Gernant, Clerk and Treasurer for Missoula County, to make sense of what we’re seeing on tax bills, what to do if you missed the homestead filing deadline, and what might be coming next.

The backgrounds we bring to real estate differ, but Ty Hall's is more unique than most. We sat down for a good couch session to hear what brought Ty to Idaho, what he loves about real estate and PureWest, and how someone makes the move from a practicing psychologist to a real estate agent.
