  • Scrapped Hunt for Ben Solo film + Pluribus trailer, News and After the Hunt review! - EP 183

    We discuss the news that one of many Star Wars projects that had been in the works, and subsequently canned, was The Hunt for Ben Solo! The project would’ve seen the return of none other than Adam Driver who, along with director Steven Soderbergh, had written the project in the hopes of returning to the Star Wars franchise!

    Word on the street is that the exceptional Sony Pictures Animated 2021 feature, The Mitchells vs the Machine, is getting a sequel! What do we think about that?

    We then discuss a trailer for the latest series from Breaking bad creator, Vince Gillian, reteaming with Better Call Saul star Rhea Seehorn for Appletv’s Pluribus!

    Then we get into What We’re Into. Miguel catches up with the rest of the world and watches K-Pop Demon Hunters, and stimulates goats in the video game extraordinaire, Goat Simulator 3!

    Luis cleans his house and clears his schedule to make time to tackle a different video game, Ghost of Yotei!

    Ed had a hell of a weekend, revisiting Weapons and One Battle After Another, and viewing and reviewing The Naked Gun remake and Luca Guadanigno’s After the Hunt! Busy boy.

    This week for our feature discussion we review Benny Safdie’s The Smashing Machine, from A24. We discuss “The Rock’s” performance as well as our thoughts on the film and where it places itself this awards season.

    Before that though we rejoice in the news that KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR will finally have a theatrical run in December, with new additional footage! QT fans get excited!

    Ghost of Yōtei is a 2025 action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is a standalone sequel to the 2020 game Ghost of Tsushima.[1] Set in 1603 in Ezo, Japan, the story follows Atsu, an onna-musha seeking vengeance against the "Yōtei Six" for slaughtering her family sixteen years prior.

  • One Battle After Another Review + Paul Thomas Anderson Ranking! - EP 178

    This week the nerds celebrate the return of the great Paul Thomas Anderson, bringing his epic new film, ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER to the theaters with him!

    We’re big fans of (the Master) PTA, and are excited to get into our review of the film. We discuss formats, Leo and the rest of the cast, the action set pieces, that Johnny Greenwood score and more. It’s a fun, deep dive discussion, but beware, it’s spoiler filled.

    Then, naturally, we can’t hit the tenth PTA movie without having a good old ranking, and so Ed and Luis give their Top Ten Paul Thomas Anderson movies, and there are a few surprises thrown in there!
