How do you spend a lifetime making things without ever considering yourself creative, never mind an artist?
In this first episode, I'm going right back to the beginning. From growing up surrounded by sewing machines, handmade clothes, and my mother's wedding dress, through quilting, motherhood, silk pillowcases, and a rather impressive collection of fabric, to the point where, at 43, I finally decided to call myself an artist.
Along the way, there were plenty of creative detours, years of self-doubt, the realities of family life, perimenopause, and the rather wonderful experience of feeling like myself again.
It's a bit of an introduction to me, how I got here, and why I decided that 2025 was going to be the year I invested in myself and gave this whole art thing a proper go.
Because sometimes the biggest change isn't learning something new. It's recognising what's been there all along.
