Welcome to the third episode of the Protected Cropping Podcast series, where we interview key partners of the Hort Innovation Frontiers program - an initiative designed to advance horticulture through protected cropping innovation and to help growers maintain profitability, while adapting to the future.
In this episode, Anita Chennell speaks with Dr Ian Goodwin (Research Manager Horticulture Production Sciences) and Dr Alessio Scalisi (Senior Research Scientist) from AgVic about the automation and innovation projects trialled at Tatura SmartFarm. Reflecting on two years of the project, now wrapped up, they share what they found and what was solved, from retractable covers over cherries and apples to solar panels over pears.
Read more and find the latest updates on this project on the AHR website here.
