For over 100 years the people of Union County have come together one week out of the year to experience food, fun, and entertainment at the fair.

The Union County Fair is the biggest event of the year for our county bringing in well know entertainers!

Jesse Boulden is the Director of the International ALERT Academy, a military-style

discipleship and training program for young men in Big Sandy, Texas — and the first ALERT

graduate to lead the organization in its 32-year history.

Jesse's path to ALERT began at age 14, when he attended a boys' camp in Colorado staffed

by ALERT alumni. Their maturity, honesty, and adventurous spirit set the trajectory of his

life. In the fall of 2008, at 18 years old, he enrolled in ALERT Basic Training with Unit 40 — and

never left.

While the organization focuses heavily on agricultural programs, culinary history, and food access within Union, South Carolina, its historical and local food studies directly cover the surrounding regions—including neighboring Union County, North Carolina

Our guest this week is: Mysti Mayhem (born Misty Dawn Naholnik on May 14, 1984) is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and powerhouse vocalist currently based in Durham, North Carolina.

Known for her signature blues and soulful acoustic renditions, she has built a career spanning over 24 years of professional live performance.

Notably, she was professionally trained by blues legend Bo Diddley and is a 5-time nominee for the 2026 Josie Music Awards.
