Presence in the Mindful Moment. Serge Prengel on The Living Process. Episode 52. Host Greg Madison
Delighted to welcome Serge Prengel to The Living Process. Serge talks about how he found Focusing many years ago in New York and how he calls Focusing a form of mindfulness which he terms PROACTIVE MINDFULNESS to distinguish it from other forms. We talk about this development, the struggle to be more mindful, and the importance of physicality in change processes. We also touch on the experience of a ‘shared field’, the interaction between people, conflict and how to accept it as a part of diversity, as well as neuroscience explanations for these practices.

Serge Prengel is an Focusing Oriented Therapist and Mindfulness teacher in the New York City area. He has been exploring mindfulness as an ongoing practice that includes awareness of its own inevitable failure. We strive to be more present and engaged, while recognizing that it is impossible to be completely mindful. See: ProactiveMindfulness.com
