Humboldt Unified School District Superintendent Brett Dahl joins Prescott Valley Talks to break down Proposition 407 - a $79.6 million bond measure designed to upgrade district facilities without raising property taxes. As an existing bond expires, Prop 407 steps in to replace it, meaning taxpayers pay the same rate while schools get critical improvements. Brett also shares an exciting milestone: seven out of nine HUSD schools are on track to receive A ratings - making it the only K-12 A-rated district in Yavapai County.

From aging buses with 500,000 miles on them to HVAC systems past their useful life, Brett explains why this investment isn't just about buildings - it's about students, staff, local jobs, and the long-term strength of the Prescott Valley and Dewey-Humboldt communities.

On this episode of PV Talks, host Steve Bracety sits down with Leon Moise and Juve Rodriguez, the owners behind Prescott Valley favorites Salt-N-Pepper and Ciao Bella.

Leon and Juve share how their passion for food, scratch-made recipes, and attention to quality helped shape two popular local restaurants. From homemade sauces and fresh mozzarella to breakfast favorites and classic Italian dishes, they explain why creating great food starts with passion and consistency.

The conversation also goes beyond the kitchen. They discuss the challenges of owning a restaurant, rising labor and operating costs, building a strong team, and adapting to the realities of running a small business.

Most importantly, Leon and Juve talk about the community that has supported their restaurants and turned them into places where families, friends, and neighbors can gather. For them, owning a restaurant is about more than serving food. It is about creating connections and giving back to Prescott Valley.
