The City of Prescott and their contractor, DBA Construction, are set to begin construction of the Pine Crest Concrete Improvements Project the week of May 18, 2026. This project will preserve and maintain the historic concrete roadways by repairing sections of damaged concrete roads throughout the Pine Crest neighborhood, as shown in the map below. No asphalt pavement overlay will be undertaken as part of this project. Construction starts this weekend on a massive project to expand the freeway interchange connecting Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) and Interstate 10 in the West Valley. The Arizona Department of Transportation’s 2 million project will add an elevated bridge for new high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane connections between the two freeways. Other improvements include new ramps and traffic flow enhancements along I-10 and Loop 101. Construction is scheduled to be completed in approximately three years. Finding one’s way around Yavapai College’s Prescott and Verde Valley campuses just became much easier with the introduction of digital wayfinding. Students, community members and other visitors may now use their phones to scan a QR code to download the MazeMap application. Multiple outdoor signs will populate parking lots and other locations across both campuses, inviting students and visitors to “Explore YC.” The signs will feature a QR code that, when scanned with one’s phone camera, will invite users to download the MazeMap application for their respective location. The City of Flagstaff will launch a one-time sandbag clean up operation throughout the Sunnyside and Grandview Homes neighborhoods, in the areas shown on the map. Residents of Sunnyside and Grandview Homes are instructed to move their sandbags debris to the curb (within City Right-of-Way) in front of their property. City of Flagstaff crews will remove this sandbag debris between May 26 and June 8.
