We all have expectations of how God will act, what He will be to and for us. John the Baptist was no different. At the end of his life, he had some doubts about Christ. This is a challenging passage, but if we deal with it honestly, it should encourage us to press forward alongside Christ.

Christ calls the mature people of the church to be the hands and feet of Christ in these moments. Join us as God challenges us to help restore our fellow sinners.

The desire for a close fellowship with God is a good indication of a changed heart. A heart that the love of God has transformed will be a heart that is assured by God’s many promises. Be encouraged by this section of 1 John that gives us both assurance of our standing before God and a call to close fellowship with God.
