Who are you praying for when your own burdens feel heavy enough?

In this Sunday message, Pastor James Wilson turns to Luke 22:31-32, where Jesus warns Simon Peter that Satan desires to sift him as wheat. Before Peter ever faced the trial, Jesus had already responded with a promise that still speaks to every believer.

Pastor Wilson reminds us that the enemy often works by magnifying the small things and minimizing our blessings, so that when the real battle comes, we are too worn down to pray. Many believers know what it feels like to lift their hands in praise and still feel tired, or to kneel in prayer and find that the words will not come.

But Jesus understood what His disciples would face, and He knew the strength that prayer could provide. This message challenges the church to look beyond self-focused prayer and consider what it truly means to pray the way Jesus prayed, especially for those quietly suffering right beside us.

It is a word for anyone who has run out of words in a hard season, and for every believer God is calling to stand in the gap for someone else.

"𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝑰 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒆, 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒚 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒍 𝒏𝒐𝒕."

Prayer that reaches beyond ourselves is the kind of prayer that reflects the heart of Jesus.
