概要

What can a postcard really tell you?

On Postmarked & Tipsy, we explore real vintage postcards from the past — and the stories hidden between the lines.

Each episode starts with a simple message… and quickly turns into something else:

A mystery
A question
Or a story that doesn’t quite add up

With a drink in hand, we dig into the details, the history, and the people behind the postcard — trying to figure out what was really going on.

  • Episode 5: He Says He Misses His Family… But He’s Having a Great Time?
    2026/04/17

A 1939 postcard. A husband traveling alone. And a message that doesn’t quite add up.

He tells his family he misses them, loves them, and can’t wait to come home… but also that he’s having a great time flying in an early airplane.

    So what’s really going on?

    In this episode, we explore:
    – Early aviation and the excitement of flight
    – The strange contradiction in his message
    – Why the postcard image is completely unrelated
    – And whether this was a business trip… or something else

Plus, a second postcard that raises even more questions involving multiple states and a mysterious basket.

    Because as always…

    We still have questions.

  • Episode 4 Lock, Stock and Barrel: They packed everything… and didn’t know where they were going
    2026/04/10

In this episode of Postmarked & Tipsy, we head underground to Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico — but the real mystery isn’t the cave…

    It’s the postcard.

Dated March 19, 1943, the message is short — but unsettling:

A couple, Glen and Elsie, write that they’re on their way to Salt Lake City, “lock, stock and barrel”… their car packed to the ceiling.

They don’t expect to stay long.
They don’t know where they’re going next.

    Which raises some questions:

    Were they running away?
    Starting over?
Or just very bad at planning a road trip?

We also try a Chimayó cocktail, and end with a cold read that may or may not be part of a multi-postcard message about sandwiches on a train.

If you know Glen and Elsie… please let us know.

  • Episode 3 Story Behind the Story: This Postcard’s Route Makes No Sense
    2026/03/29

In Episode 3 of Postmarked & Tipsy, we pulled a Yellowstone postcard during our cold read.

    It seemed simple.

But once we started looking closer, the details didn’t add up.

In this “Story Behind the Story” deep dive, we follow a postcard that somehow connects:

    • Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming)
    • Soap Lake, Washington
    • Blackwell, Oklahoma
    • and a location we still can’t identify

    Along the way, we found:
    • a town known for mineral-rich healing water
    • a roadside lava lamp
    • a surprisingly honest tourist attraction
    • and a house that looks like it belongs in a Scooby Doo episode

    We’re still not sure:
Was this a normal travel route?
    Did we misread the message?
Or did this postcard take a very strange path?

▶️ Watch Episode 3 for the original postcard

Because sometimes the story isn’t the postcard…
    it’s where it went.
