  • Popsicle Wisdom is BACK, Shattering Hyperproductivity, & what's next for the Show
    2023/08/01

In this episode of the Popsicle Wisdom podcast, I, Helen Garcia, share my personal journey of taking a deliberate pause from podcast production. I reflect on how I lost sight of the original intent of engaging in meaningful conversations and collaborations and instead became focused on productivity and achievement. Over the course of 60 days, I simplified my life, rediscovered the importance of authentic human relationships, and embraced slowness. This episode marks a shift in the podcast's frequency, as it will now be released bi-weekly to ensure the content is rich and meaningful.

  • How Changing My Mindset Transformed My Podcast
    2023/05/30

    Hey Popsicles,

This week, I'm giving you a look into the mindset and heart of the podcast!

7 Ideas I Discuss in This Week’s Podcast

🍦 1. The Power of Popsicles:

Growing up, one of my fondest memories was enjoying ice cream with my dad, whom I affectionately called Popsicle. Those moments were more than just sweet treats; they were opportunities for Popsicle to impart sage and wise advice. Can you think of your own cherished moments with loved ones that shaped you?

    🌟 2. The Juxtaposition: Popsicle + Wisdom:

The name Popsicle Wisdom perfectly captures the essence of our podcast. It combines the light-heartedness of Popsicles with the profound depth of wisdom. This blend creates a playful and humble space, which I believe is vital for personal growth. Life is too short to take ourselves too seriously!

    🧡 3. Embrace Imperfections:

In a world obsessed with perfection, I've come to realize that my favorite stories are the messy ones. I cherish the moments when individuals embrace their flaws and make progress anyway. It's a reminder that you don't need to have it all figured out. Embrace your imperfections and let them guide you towards growth.

🎬 4. Influenced by Empowering Women:

As a child, I was captivated by empowering female characters in movies. Wonder Woman, Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft, and other strong women became my role models. These characters showed me that you don't need privilege to make a difference. Curiosity, wonder, and embracing your unique journey can lead to incredible things.

    🔥 5. Give Yourself Permission:

Often, we feel the need to acquire more knowledge or validation before fully embracing who we are. But let me tell you a secret: it's not about more information; it's about giving yourself permission. Release the fear that holds you back and step into your authentic self. You have all the permission you need!

🌌 6. Wisdom from Those Who Came Before:

I've always been drawn to the wisdom of older generations. Listening to their stories, regrets, and triumphs has enriched my perspective on life. Their experiences provide invaluable lessons and shape the choices we make. Let's honor their wisdom and create a future worth living.

    🎉 7. Release the Pressure:

Here's the best part—there's no pressure! Popsicle Wisdom isn't about becoming a flawless human being. It's an invitation to tap into your humanity, celebrate vulnerability, and have fun along the way. Life is meant to be experienced, messy bits and all!

  • The Art and Business of Copywriting with Ben Watkins
    2023/05/26

    Hey Popsicles!

In this week's newsletter, we're diving into the insightful conversation with Ben Watkins on "The Art and Business of Copywriting."

Here's a 5-point summary of what we discussed in great writing:

    1. Let go of expectations:

    * Ben emphasizes that writers should not put too much pressure on themselves to create a viral piece or have huge expectations for every article.

    * The reaction from the audience is beyond the writer's control, and sometimes, even articles written in less time can go viral.

    2. Market feedback and self-discovery:

    * Ben believes in doing as much writing as possible to gain market feedback and figure out what topics resonate the most.

    * This process of continuous writing and learning helps writers understand their audience and their own writing preferences, guiding them on their writing journey.

    3. Generosity in writing:

    * Ben and Helen discuss the importance of being generous with sharing knowledge and information.

    * Instead of holding back valuable insights, being open and giving can create reciprocity and attract a supportive community of readers.

    4. Passionate writing:

    * Ben suggests that writers should have a genuine love for what they do and write about.

    * It's crucial to believe in the message and share it authentically, rather than simply following templates or chasing audience growth.

    * Writing with passion and authenticity makes the content stand out and resonate with readers.

    5. Embrace diversity in writing:

    * Ben encourages writers to explore different topics and not limit themselves to a single niche.

    * While it's essential to have a focus, there is room to share personal stories, varied experiences, and insights from different areas of interest.

    * Writing beyond a specific category allows writers to fully embody the mindset of a writer and express themselves creatively.

Remember, the journey of a writer is a continuous learning process.

Embrace your passion, be open to new experiences, and let your authentic voice shine through your words. Happy writing!
