This time, Poochie’s Place is stepping between the ropes with some people who know the fight game from the inside out.
At the table are Yoel “The Butcher” Cooper, Ghandi “Gonzilla” Romain, Hall of Famer Derrick “Coach Nas” Graham, Hall of Fame Inductee Eric “The Body Killer” Graham, and self-proclaimed “future light heavyweight champion” The Smart Guy.
And once the bell rings, we let them go.
This isn’t just a conversation about who can throw the hardest punch. We get into the business, discipline, sacrifice, strategy, psychology, and culture of boxing—and what happens long before a fighter ever steps into the ring.
What separates a fighter from a boxer? How much of boxing is physical, and how much of it is mental? What happens when old-school experience meets a new generation with a different way of approaching the sport—and the business behind it?
We talk training, mental toughness, legendary fighters and fighting styles, guiding young athletes, building an audience, knowing your value, taking control of your career, and understanding that sometimes the biggest fight happens outside the ropes.
There are different generations at this table. Different experiences. Different opinions.
And believe me… not every punch thrown in this episode comes from a glove.
Some points get challenged. Some get defended. A few combinations are thrown. But underneath it all is a shared respect for the sport, the people who dedicate their lives to it, and the responsibility of preparing the next generation for more than just fight night.
No judges. No scorecards. No scripted answers.
Just a table full of boxing knowledge, strong personalities, a few disagreements—and me throwing a question into the ring and getting out of the way.
Welcome to Poochie’s Place: The Boxing Roundtable.
The bell has rung. Let’s talk boxing.
