A viral photo sparked rumors that police were cracking down on a rap concert, but drone footage revealed the real story: the heavy police presence was in Old Town, miles away, responding to separate disturbances and fights unrelated to the venue. Officers were already stationed there for safety after a homicide last year, and when crowds swelled near clubs, they acted swiftly — shutting down venues, dispersing crowds, and arresting 11 for failing to disperse. Despite chaos, no force was used, and one person received medical attention. The department released the footage to debunk misinformation and show their commitment to public safety based on real-time needs.
