For more than 30 years, Edwin Quarles has lived, worked, raised a family, and built relationships throughout the Lake Norman region. Now he is bringing those relationships, along with his natural curiosity about the people behind them, to WSIC as host of Plugged Into Lake Norman. Edwin's connection to the region runs deep. His children attended and graduated from local schools. He has worked for two of the area's major employers, started and run local businesses, and is an active member of the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he has also been a longtime advocate for the region's military and veteran community, including championing efforts to establish the new Veterans Service Office serving the Lake Norman area. His path to radio began as host of WSIC's Huntersville’s Thrive Here Live, a Town of Huntersville, sponsored program. When that show came to an end, Edwin realized he was not finished with the conversations; he wanted to make them bigger and include more of the Lake Norman region. Plugged Into Lake Norman expands the microphone across Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Mooresville, Denver, and the communities beyond. Edwin talks with business owners and entrepreneurs, nonprofit founders, community organizations, government officials and staff, candidates for public office, and the people behind the events, ideas, and institutions shaping the region. Edwin also serves his community as a Huntersville Town Commissioner but Plugged Into Lake Norman is his own independent venture. It grew from three decades of living here and a genuine interest in connecting people across the Lake Norman community. If Edwin looks familiar, there may be another reason; he has a reputation for showing up at just about every ribbon cutting he can get to and frequents the small businesses about town. As Edwin puts it at the beginning of every show: Wuzz up y'all? Welcome to Plugged Into Lake Norman. Tune in to enjoy: Local news. Community voices. Real conversations.© 2026 WSIC News 社会科学

LIVE | Plugged Into LKN with Edwin Quarles

Edwin Quarles has called the Lake Norman region home for more than 30 years. He has raised a family here, worked for some of the region's largest employers, built businesses here, championed local veterans’ programs and services, and spent countless hours getting to know the people and places that make Lake Norman tick.

After discovering a love for radio as host of WSIC's “Huntersville’s Thrive Here Live”, Edwin launched Plugged Into Lake Norman to take the conversation beyond one town. From Huntersville, Cornelius, and Davidson to Mooresville, Denver, and beyond, he sits down with the business owners, community leaders, public servants, candidates, nonprofits, and neighbors shaping life around the lake.

He is connected, curious, and always ready for a good conversation. There is also a pretty good chance he has attended more Lake Norman ribbon cuttings than just about anyone.
