  • EP 111: Performance Lives in Preparation — How Gear Effect Shapes Ball Flight
    2026/02/11

This week’s episode rides the momentum across global tournament golf — from James Nicholas breaking through on the Korn Ferry Tour, Elvis Smylie making an immediate statement on LIV Golf, and Patrick Reed returning to the winner’s circle on the DP World Tour, to a Jersey-tough performance from Gotterup on the PGA Tour. All of it unfolds alongside Super Bowl weekend and the kickoff of the Winter Olympics — a powerful reminder that when the moment gets big, preparation shows up.

Then we bring it straight back to your game. Because it’s not just mindset — it’s mechanics. We dive into why gear effect matters, how strike location directly shapes ball flight, and why performance can’t be separated from preparation, movement, and the tools in your hands. If you’ve ever hit what felt like a good swing and watched the ball do something unexpected, this episode explains why — and how to start owning your strike and truly Own Your SSWING.

  • EP 110: Be Detailed: Why Process Wins Under Pressure
    2026/02/04

This week’s Improvement Pivot Point is simple, but decisive: Be Detailed.

The Farmers Insurance Open gave us a masterclass in what that actually looks like. Justin Rose set the tone with a rare wire-to-wire performance on the PGA Tour — the kind of win that isn’t about riding momentum, but about creating it early and protecting it with discipline. From the opening round onward, it was fairways first, precise iron windows, and a pre-shot routine that never changed, regardless of scoreboards or pressure. The details didn’t fade as the week went on — they sharpened.

On the LPGA Tour, Nelly Korda showed how quickly form can turn when process leads. Her charge wasn’t built on forcing birdies, but on recommitting to her decisions — picking the right shots, swinging with conviction, and trusting her routine when the momentum of the tournament shifted. It was patience paired with intent.

Across the globe, the same theme repeated itself. Both the DP World Tour and the Korn Ferry Tour crowned first-time winners — players who didn’t chase perfection or rely on hero moments. They managed misses, stayed inside their plans, and let consistency do the heavy lifting over four demanding days.

This episode unpacks the weekend of golf to show why detail matters — in preparation, decision-making, and especially in pre-shot routines. At every level, improvement doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from doing the small things on purpose, over and over again.

    Be detailed.

    Own Your SSWING.

And let the results take care of themselves.

  • EP 109: Choosing The Right Shot at the Right Time
    2026/01/30

In golf, progress is rarely decided by the hardest swing or the boldest shot — it’s decided by the choice you make when the moment demands restraint. This past weekend’s PGA and DP World Tour results reinforced a simple truth: the players who keep moving forward aren’t chasing moments — they’re choosing wisely.

In this week's episode, we explore the Improvement Pivot Point that shows up under real pressure: choosing the right shot in the right moment. From managing risk to fully committing once a decision is made, this episode breaks down how elite players simplify when it matters most — and why restraint so often leads to better outcomes than aggression.

We look at what the leaderboard doesn’t always show:

    • How smart choices prevent big numbers
    • Why patience creates separation over four rounds
    • Where everyday golfers lose shots by chasing instead of choosing
    • How to apply this mindset to practice, putting, and on-course decision-making

This isn’t about playing safe — it’s about playing clear. Improvement doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from choosing better, when it matters most.

Note: This episode was recorded prior to the news of Patrick Reed’s departure from LIV Golf.

  • EP 108: Clarity Under Pressure
    2026/01/22

In today’s golf landscape, clarity matters more than ever. Opportunities reward those who are prepared — and pressure shows up earlier in the journey.

In this week’s episode, we explore why clarity — not comfort — is becoming the true competitive advantage in professional golf and everyday improvement. Following last week’s conversation with Julian Sanchez, this episode examines what separates those who continue to move forward when conditions get uncomfortable — and why the best performers simplify, not complicate, under pressure.

We bring the conversation into practice by looking at how Scott applies clarity to putting — prioritizing face control and distance assignment over feel or confidence.

This episode unpacks how pressure exposes preparation — and why improvement doesn’t come from feeling ready, but from being clear.

  • EP 107: Seeing Beyond Limits — Julian Sanchez on Living Life Fully and Playing Golf Without Sight
    2026/01/14

In this episode of Pivot The Path, we sit down with Julian Sanchez—who lost his sight at age nine due to a rare disease, yet never lost his vision for what was possible. Today, Julian works at one of the world’s top banks, navigates life and career with intention, and is a proud member of the SSWING community.

Julian is a successful multi-organ transplant recipient and lymphoma survivor. He faced life-threatening health challenges from an early age, including a kidney transplant from his mother, complications that led to vision loss at nine, and a lymphoma diagnosis as a young adult. Through every curveball, Julian chose to Pivot The Path—and today, he is fighting fit, healthy, and living life fully, always chasing that first hole-in-one.

At SSWING, Scott works closely with Julian on foundational elements of the game—building a grip and setup that promote a consistently square clubface at impact, along with simple, repeatable fundamentals that prioritize feel, clarity, and trust in movement. It’s a practical expression of the Own Your SSWING philosophy—meeting the golfer where they are and building confidence through clarity and process.

This conversation explores resilience, adaptability, process, discipline, and redefining what it truly means to “see” opportunity. Julian’s story is a powerful reminder that limits don’t define us—our response does.

  • EP 106: How to Become a Better Golfer in 2026: Clarity, Connection, Consistency
    2026/01/07

What does it actually take to become a better golfer in 2026?

In Episode 106 of Pivot The Path, we focus on what truly drives lasting improvement: clarity, connection, and consistency. As golf continues to evolve — from technology and data to training methods and expectations — the golfers who improve are the ones who understand what to train, why they’re training it, and how it connects to performance on the course.

This episode introduces a no off-season framework built around movement quality, measurable benchmarks and purposeful practice. We break down why clarity beats information overload, how connection between the body and the golf swing creates repeatable results, and why consistency — not intensity — is the real separator over time.

Whether you’re a dedicated golfer training through the winter, a busy professional trying to practice smarter, or someone ready to stop guessing and start improving, this episode lays out a clear path forward.

Better golf in 2026 isn’t about doing more.

It’s about doing the right things — with intention.

  • EP 104: Practice With Intent: The Bloodwork of Your Golf Game
    2025/12/10

In this week’s episode, we keep building off the Break 75 Blueprint — the framework helping everyday golfers tighten their scoring, eliminate wasted shots, and build consistency through smarter strategy and purposeful reps. We break down how small refinements in how you practice can create massive gains in how you play.

Our Improvement Pivot Point is Practice With Intent — the difference between simply hitting balls and actually training movements that transfer to the course. When your reps have a purpose, a target, and a defined movement focus, you build repeatability. When they don’t, you just add noise to your pattern.

We also dive into Rasmus Neergaard Petersen’s win on the DP World Tour — a massive milestone for one of Europe’s brightest rising stars. His week was a blueprint in itself: disciplined preparation, a clear game plan, and unwavering intent behind every shot. There’s a lot golfers can learn from the way he structures his performance and earns his first DP World Tour victory.

And finally, a blend of performance takeaways — from how the best players shape purposeful practice to how everyday golfers can adopt the same mindset. This is your weekly reminder that improvement is built on clarity, strategy, and reps that actually mean something. That is how you truly Own Your SSWING.
