    2025/09/03

Although there are no new machine reveals this month, there are still two new titles and loads of interesting news for Jonathan from Pinball Magazine and Martin from Pinball News to report in this August edition of the Pinball Industry News PINcast.

Yet another Star Wars game is on the way from Stern Pinball. This time it’s a full ‘cornerstone’ model with Pro, Premium and Limited Edition variants, but for the first time it won’t be available in all geographic regions. The final reveal of Star Wars: Fall of the Empire has been somewhat drawn out too, so get the latest on when we can expect to see the full game and where it will be available to play. There’s also news of a new King Kong topper, a sale on merchandise and mods at the Stern shop, and details of all the latest new features in the game code updates.

But if spending thousands on a new game is out of your price range, how about getting one for free? That’s what Multimorphic are offering for the P3 pinball platform as Elemental Pinball is made available as a free download for all P3 machine owners.

The cloud of US import tariffs continues to hang over most industries, and pinball is certainly no exception. Dutch Pinball Exclusive and Pinball Brothers have both made announcements on steps they are taking to mitigate the impact of the tariffs on their customers. Meanwhile, Pinball Brothers have already called time on their new Predator release, with both it and Alien reaching the end of the line at the end of the year. With only around 100 still available, time is running out if you had a Predator in your sights.

News from American Pinball too where, after adding Funsup Manufacturing to their Aimtron affiliations, there’s a new Orbit Games brand added to the mix. Jonathan and Martin try to make sense of the different company names and what it means for American Pinball, as the sale prices of their remaining inventory continues to drop.

There’s lots more product news from companies actually building games and add-ons, and new code from Barrels of Fun, Spooky and Pedretti. Then, it’s time for the latest edition of What’s Cooking? With… as Roger Sharpe joins the PINcast to share his favourite Thanksgiving recipe. But that’s not all, as the licensing guru gives us his take on Star Wars licensing as well as the wider trend toward fragmenting licences by geographic region. Roger also talks about the new range of Roger Sharpe branded merchandise, with T-shirts available now and much more coming soon.

  • Pinball Magazine & Pinball News PINcast July 2025 recap
    2025/08/01

After the recent flurry of new game announcements, Jonathan from Pinball Magazine and Martin from Pinball News begin this month’s Pinball Industry News PINcast with two re-releases of existing titles.

Stern Pinball have gone back to revisit their Jaws and Star Wars games. In the case of Jaws it’s a blood-red treatment for a new 50th Anniversary Edition of the Premium model, while their Star Wars Home Edition gets a ‘Plus’ upgrade and a price cut as it goes on sale in selected Costco stores in the US.

As last month, the third new game announcement is for Multimorphic’s P3 pinball platform. Row Mania, from Neil Wilson, uses the Drained playfield module in an EM-inspired mini game which is available to download right now.

Also working on their next title was game designer, Jack Danger. However, he’s stepped back from that project to become Stern’s new Head of Community, in which role he will create multi-platform promotional material, act as Stern’s brand ambassador and return to game streaming both for Stern and under his own Dead Flip channel brand.

After the success of their Evil Dead title, Spooky Pinball are now looking to hire a new software developer. There’s also production updates and news of when we might expect their next game to be announced.

Another pinball manufacturer working on a new title is Hexa Pinball in France. They’ve got their team back together to build the first prototype of the follow-up to Space Hunt.

Barrels of Fun are planning a rerun of their own. This time though it’s a repeat of the factory tour they held at the Houston Arcade Expo last year. Visitors to this year’s show get the opportunity to take the tour and see how they build the Dune game.

The topper for Dutch Pinball Exclusive’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland was already pretty impressive, but now game owners can enhance it further with a new topper expansion kit from The Electric Playground.

Meanwhile, there’s news about the ‘other’ Alice in Wonderland game, this time from Wonderland Amusements who have been showing off their new production-quality moulded playfield components. They have big plans for Pinball Expo in October and even hope to be shipping games by then.

Although it’s a relatively quiet month, there’s still plenty more industry news to report, along with details of the new features added with the latest code updates.

Two weeks ago, they brought you a special bonus PINcast interview with Daniel Janson of Pinball Brothers, but now it’s time to look back on the launch and the subsequent new details and gameplay videos for Predator pinball.

The second new game came out-of-the-blue, as Pedretti revealed their Ligabue Pinball Game. Themed around the very popular Italian rock band Ligabue and aimed at the Italian market, the machine has all-new artwork but a familiar playfield design.

The third new game hasn’t actually been released yet, but the details known so far certainly sound intriguing. Steelbound is the latest title from For Amusement Only Games for the P3 pinball platform.
