Pilot Life is the podcast for pilots and aspiring pilots across Australia and New Zealand.

For us, Pilot Life is about more than the flying itself. It’s the journey of becoming a pilot, building experience, learning from others, handling the challenges that come with the job and finding enjoyment in the life that aviation creates.

Each episode explores a different part of that journey through practical aviation knowledge, engaging stories and conversations with people from across the industry. From flight training, airline operations and human factors to careers, decision-making, wellbeing, leadership and life beyond the flight deck, the podcast looks at the things that shape us as pilots.

Hosted by Mark, with guests and occasional co-hosts joining him along the way, Pilot Life brings together experience, curiosity and thoughtful perspectives from across the aviation community.

Whether you’re preparing for your first solo, working towards your PPL, CPL or ATPL, flying professionally, instructing, or simply passionate about aviation, there’s a place for you in the conversation.

The podcast is also part of the wider Pilot Life community, where aviators across Australia and New Zealand can share experiences, ask questions, keep learning and connect with others on a similar journey.

Produced by Pilot Life, creators of professional online aviation theory training for pilots across Australia and New Zealand.

  • You’re Not the Centre of the Universe (and That’s a Relief)
    2026/02/25

Send Mark and Brooke a message or voicemail.

One of the first lessons in flight training isn’t how much control you have — it’s how much you don’t.

Weather shifts. Plans change. Systems move.

In this episode, we explore how flying teaches perspective — the kind that turns frustration into structure and pressure into clarity.

From early PPL cross-countries to thinking like a future captain, this is about the “view from above” — and why not being the centre of everything might be the most freeing realisation a pilot can make.
