In 2017–18, Bobbie Spencer is heavily involved in protecting her family as Carly and Sonny reconcile and Nelle Hayes becomes increasingly entangled with Carly and Michael. Bobbie supports Carly’s right to choose her own happiness but consistently voices concern about Sonny and remains openly distrustful of Nelle.

Bobbie directly confronts Nelle multiple times, setting boundaries and refusing to tolerate her interference in the family. Working with Felicia, Bobbie investigates Nelle’s background, uncovering her true identity, her affair with Sonny, and evidence linking her to the suspicious death of her former fiancé. Bobbie repeatedly warns Carly and Michael, though Michael insists on defending Nelle and making his own decisions.

At General Hospital, Bobbie remains a steady presence during hospital layoffs, protests, and major medical crises, including Ava’s injuries, Jason’s shooting, and Nathan’s critical condition. She supports Monica, Maxie, Kiki, and Carly through grief and uncertainty while continuing her work as head nurse.

Bobbie confronts Sonny about his lies and the ongoing harm caused to Carly and their children. She testifies honestly during Carly’s trial, refuses to minimize Nelle’s behavior, and openly opposes Michael’s relationship and engagement to Nelle.

Throughout this period, Bobbie acts as both nurse and matriarch—offering support when needed and truth when it’s unwelcome—remaining firmly focused on protecting her family and patients.

Lulu warned Charlotte after learning Valentin is on the run and asked her not to leave town with him. Carly later left Charlotte a sign letting her know Valentin is okay, while Valentin explained he’s hiding at Carly’s until Anna comes back. Marco allowed the police to search the house, then told Pascal he was worried Lucas would find out about his involvement and that he would lose him. Sidwell met with the women of Deception and announced he now owns Pier 55 and 56. Liz was diagnosed with demodex blepharitis and explained eyelash mites to Felicia.

The Drew shooting investigation continued to shift. Curtis was arrested, which briefly cleared Willow, but new footage showing Willow driving on Drew’s street made her the top suspect again and Curtis was released. Willow later snuck onto the Quartermaine property, with Chase covering for her and telling Michael he would not sign an affidavit confirming she was there. Michael and Jacinda were caught nearly having sex in Nina’s office. Brennan questioned Alexis about her letters to Valentin, while Willow and Drew continued to argue with Alexis over her plan to keep Willow out of jail.

Mac told Turner that Sonny would have killed Dalton to protect Rocco, and Turner later told Molly that she has fooled Sonny into thinking he has her wrapped around her finger. Emma reassured Mac that he’s doing everything he can for his family. Portia was hospitalized for dehydration, which is how Isaiah learned she was pregnant; he offered to help her rest, and Trina later arrived and confirmed she already knew about the pregnancy. Britt continued to struggle as Jason helped her take her medication while she was drunk and later pleaded with her to make sure she was going to be okay. Anna remains imprisoned, likely at Wyndemere, and has been piecing events together in a journal, raising questions about Faith and/or Faison’s involvement.

From 2014 to 2016, Bobbie Spencer stayed busy supporting her family through one crisis after another. She helps search for Carly, deals with Franco and Heather’s interference, and adjusts when Julian turns out to be Lucas’s biological father. She also briefly rekindles things with Scott, though it doesn’t last.

In 2015, Bobbie plays a key role in the Fluke storyline, growing suspicious of “Luke” and uncovering long-buried Spencer family history, including their sister Patricia. Once the real Luke is found and the truth comes out, Bobbie is there as he eventually decides to leave Port Charles.
