Peyton Watson is heading to Cleveland to join the Cavaliers after four impactful years with the Nuggets, where he built deep bonds—especially with veteran Aaron Gordon, who calls him “dog” and says their connection extends beyond basketball, even sharing church communities. Watson had a career year in Denver, averaging over 14 points and nearly 5 rebounds before injury and free agency caution cut his season short. Contract talks fell through as Denver couldn’t meet his salary demands, leading him to choose Cleveland over other suitors like the Hawks and Clippers. Watson honored his Nuggets family on social media, praising Gordon as “salt of the earth,” while fans know Denver will miss his energy—and Cleveland fans are eager to see how he thrives in his new chapter.
