Welcome back to The Power of Permission.

Today we’re talking about something that has the power to change every relationship in your life: permission to tell the truth.

Truth sounds simple—until it costs us something.

Sometimes the hardest truths aren’t the ones we tell other people. They’re the ones we avoid telling ourselves.

“I’m exhausted.”

“I’m hurt.”

“I need help.”

“I’m afraid.”

“This relationship isn’t healthy.”

“I’ve been pretending everything is okay.”

Many of us learned early in life that telling the truth wasn’t always safe. Maybe honesty was met with criticism, rejection, conflict, or disappointment. So we learned to hide our feelings, soften our words, or become who everyone else needed us to be.

But every time we sacrifice truth to keep the peace, we slowly lose ourselves.

Scripture calls us to something better. We are invited to “speak the truth in love.” Truth without love can wound, but love without truth isn’t really love at all. God never asks us to choose between honesty and compassion. He calls us to both.

Today we’ll explore why truth feels so risky, how fear and people-pleasing keep us silent, and what it looks like to live with the kind of honesty that heals instead of harms.

Because telling the truth isn’t about winning an argument or proving a point.

It’s about living with integrity.

It’s about bringing what has been hidden into the light.

It’s about trusting that the truth, spoken with love and received with grace, has the power to set us free.

You don’t need permission to pretend.

You have permission to tell the truth.

Pull up a chair and let’s begin.
