Peptides, microdosed GLP-1s, and why the standard of care in gynecology stops short of actually treating endometriosis: Dr. Joelle Osias, founder of Foreviva Clinic, joins the Girls Room with Callie Greenberg and Jaime Silva for an unusually honest conversation about what she was trained to do and what she does instead.
Dr. Osias trained under Dr. Camran Nezhat in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, then spent twenty years inside the standard of care, birth control pills, estrogen blockers, surgery, before realizing patients kept coming back in pain no matter how many times she operated. She breaks down why the RVU system that determines physician pay makes a real two-hour intake financially impossible, and what she orders and treats instead of staying inside the standard of care: reverse T3, the MTHFR mutation, zonulin and gut permeability, IV iron, microdosed GLP-1s, and peptide therapy most gynecologists have never heard of.
They also get into the updated ACOG guidance that now allows endometriosis to be diagnosed by symptoms alone, without surgery, and why Dr. Osias believes real change has to come from patients advocating for themselves, not from the standard of care retraining itself.
