Christian freedom doesn’t mean no one gets to tell us what to do; it means sin, culture, and other people no longer own us because we belong to God. In 1 Peter 2:13-17, Peter shows how that freedom transforms the way we respond to authority, love the church, honor everyone, and point a watching world toward Jesus.

Peter shows that God raises us up to new life, builds us together as His people with Jesus as the cornerstone, and sends us out with a new purpose. Peter reminds us that becoming part of God’s family isn’t about earning His love, but responding to the grace we’ve already received through Jesus. Because we belong to Him, our lives should increasingly bear the family resemblance as we pursue holiness and love one another wholeheartedly.

Peter reminds struggling Christians that even when life feels uncertain, their hope is secure because God has chosen them, guards their faith, and promises them an eternal inheritance.

Jesus came to seek and save the lost, and He has given His followers the mission of helping bring others to Him. Who is the one person God has placed in your life that you can intentionally pray for, care for, share the gospel with, and invite to take one step closer to Jesus?

Psalm 33 reminds us that God is worthy of joyful, passionate worship because He is dependable, powerful, and attentive to His people. Even when we do not feel like worshiping, choosing to declare what is true about God can recenter our hope and lead our hearts back to joy.

When our focus is fixed on changing circumstances, praise can quickly fade. Psalm 103 calls us to remember who God is and what He has done. He forgives, restores, redeems, and surrounds His people with mercy and steadfast love. When God’s grace comes clearly into focus, we realize that no matter what we are facing, we’ve got a reason to praise.
