  • Daily Devotions: Churchianity vs The Great Commission - June 7, 2026
    2026/06/07
Acts 5:12–14 (ESV) - “Now many signs and wonders were regularly done among the people by the hands of the apostles. And they were all together in Solomon's Portico. None of the rest dared join them, but the people held them in high esteem. And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women.” In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall reflects on the pattern of the early church and the importance of keeping Jesus at the center of ministry. The apostles were focused on proclaiming Christ, demonstrating His power through signs and wonders, and calling people to genuine faith. As people believed in Jesus, they were added to the community of believers. Pastor Sumrall explains that the mission of the church is not simply to attract crowds or build events, but to fulfill the Great Commission by leading people to a personal relationship with Christ. The early church grew because believers boldly preached Jesus, and those who responded in faith became part of the fellowship of the church. Pastor Sumrall reminds us that the church is strongest when it stays centered on Christ and His mission. ---- Don’t forget to like, subscribe to Cathedral of Praise TV https://www.youtube.com/c/cathedralofpraiseTV/?sub_confirmation=1,and hit the bell icon 🔔 to stay updated. • Daily Devotions: Conspiracy & Sovereignty - June 6, 2026
    2026/06/06
Acts 4:29–30 (ESV) - “And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall reflects on one of the great prayers of the early church. Faced with opposition from religious leaders, government authorities, and the culture around them, the believers did not respond with fear or retreat. Instead, they recognized God's sovereignty and prayed for greater boldness to continue proclaiming Jesus. Pastor Sumrall explains that opposition has always been directed primarily against Christ Himself. While the world may tolerate religion or spirituality, it often resists the reality, authority, and power of Jesus. Yet the early church understood that difficult times were not a reason to back down but an opportunity to trust God more deeply and expect Him to move powerfully. Pastor Sumrall reminds us that when challenges arise, our response should be faith, courage, and prayer. Rather than withdrawing in fear, we can ask God to empower us to speak His Word boldly and to demonstrate His power through lives transformed by Jesus. ---- Don’t forget to like, subscribe to Cathedral of Praise TV https://www.youtube.com/c/cathedralofpraiseTV/?sub_confirmation=1,and hit the bell icon 🔔 to stay updated. • Daily Devotions: Running From Opportunities - June 5, 2026
    2026/06/05
Proverbs 28:1 (ESV) - “The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.” In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall explores the contrast between fear and confidence found in Proverbs. While it is wise to be watchful and discerning, Scripture speaks of a deeper fear that causes people to retreat from opportunities, responsibilities, and advancement even when no real threat exists. Pastor Sumrall explains that a clear conscience produces courage. Those who walk uprightly before God can move forward with confidence, embracing new opportunities and challenges without fear of exposure or failure. In contrast, hidden sin and unresolved issues often create fear, causing people to withdraw when doors of opportunity begin to open. Pastor Sumrall reminds us that righteousness produces boldness. As we walk honestly before God, we can face the future with confidence, step through open doors, and pursue the opportunities He places before us without fear. ---- Don’t forget to like, subscribe to Cathedral of Praise TV https://www.youtube.com/c/cathedralofpraiseTV/?sub_confirmation=1,and hit the bell icon 🔔 to stay updated. • Daily Devotions: Love Does Not Make It Right - June 4, 2026
    2026/06/04
1 Kings 11:2, 4 (ESV) - “You shall not enter into marriage with them, neither shall they with you, for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods.” Solomon clung to these in love. ... “For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and his heart was not wholly true to the Lord his God.” In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall teaches an important truth from the life of Solomon: love does not make something right. Solomon genuinely loved the women he married, yet God had clearly warned him not to pursue those relationships because they would eventually draw his heart away from the Lord. Pastor Sumrall explains that God's commands are never arbitrary. When God tells us not to do something, it is because He already sees the destination of that path. Solomon ignored God's warning, and although the consequences were not immediate, the outcome was exactly as God had foretold, his heart was gradually turned away from wholehearted devotion to God. Pastor Sumrall reminds us that feelings should never override God's Word. True wisdom is trusting that God's instructions are for our good and recognizing that He always knows where every path will lead. ---- Don’t forget to like, subscribe to Cathedral of Praise TV https://www.youtube.com/c/cathedralofpraiseTV/?sub_confirmation=1,and hit the bell icon 🔔 to stay updated.
