The Florida Panthers defeated the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 in a gritty road victory on October 7, 2026. Matthew Tkachuk scored the winning goal in the third period, while Lars Eller contributed an assist. Despite the win, the team faced significant setbacks with Brad Marchand suffering a left leg injury and exiting the game.

Key figures included Seth Jones, who led the team in points, and Jacob Markstrom, who secured the win between the pipes. The loss of Brad Marchand adds to an already depleted roster, joining Aleksander Barkov, Aaron Ekblad, and several others on injured reserve. The Panthers remain 2-0-2 and first in the Atlantic Division.

Up next, Florida hosts the Minnesota Wild on October 10. Fans should watch for increased responsibilities from centers Anton Lundell and Eetu Luostarinen as the team navigates the injury crisis. Tactical adjustments on the power play and penalty kill will be crucial for maintaining their division lead.
