This week is the second conversation with Randall from the Imperial Minis Youtube channel. We pick up from the chat we had in episode 228, go and listen to that one if you havent already so you are up to speed before this one. In this show we talk about his YouTube channel, we talk about how he loves it when people call him Randy, his love of Moonstone, and much much more!

I feel fortunate to meet people like Randall, the world is better, and the hobby is richer and deeper because of people like him, thanks Randall. Check out his YouTube channel and you can also check out the Paint All The Minis website where you can see an article from Randall about painting eyes.

  • Ep 235: Mike Tuñez (Firelock Games)
    2025/04/11

This week I talk once again to the amazing Mike Tunez of Firelock games. Firelock develop awesomeness. Their games are fun and engaging, from their settings to their mechanics, and all their interactions with us. I find them amazing. One of the biggest reasons why I love this hobby is that where in other hobbies you wouldnt dream of or have access to the big cheese at the top. For example you wouldnt dream of just contacting the guy who made Ping, the golfing company, but in this hobby, people like Mike actively seek interactions with us, its pretty special.

I always enjoy talking to Mike, and knowing who he is, how he is, and they way he would like to deal with us in the hobby makes me what to play the games more and recommend them to others. Great games, great guy.

You can listen to episode 71, 101, 190 before this one if you want so you can get all of the story so far.

    Always a pleasure. Thanks Mike.

  • Ep 234: Count Vampz (How much does stuff cost?)
    2025/04/04

This week I talk to Vampz, and we talk about how much different things cost. A while ago I started to revisit the idea of value. This something close to my heart and something I have written articles about on the PATM website and we also have around 5 episodes dedicated to this subject, you may remember the sustainable gaming chats we had around episode 150, a group of 3 episodes on the subject. I wanted to revisit the idea and when I was doing my research I checked out a video by Count Vampz Painting and Wargaming where he had plotted out the off the shelf price of getting involved in various tabletop wargames and their comparative costs.

Neither of us are here to poo poo any game purveyor, but it was interesting to see the “buy in” cost of various games we may consider. A game being a thousand AUD less than another is a pretty distinct difference.

I hope you enjoy the chat and remember we dont talk about A in the detriment of B. If you enjoy what you play then do it, we arent trying to change opinion, only offer up some fact. I had fun talking to Vampz and hope you enjoy the noises we made during our hour together.

  • Ep 232: Tim Prow (Diehard Miniatures)
    2025/03/28

This week I talk to Tim Prow of Diehard Miniatures. Diehard create old hammer inspired miniatures for us to enjoy. They used traditional sculpting methods and offer unique, interesting, and often quirky sculpts for us to use in the games we play. The minis ooze character, so take a look at them if you enjoy that style and ethos.

In the show Tim and I wend our way down his very own memory lane. We talk about his first steps, writing a letter to GW to help in the eavy metal studio during one school hoiday, to his first foray into the hobby industry, to his move to the US, his potential career swap to be a DJ in a strip bar, to the modern day as the leader of Diehard.

It was a pleasure to speak to Tim, I hope you enjoy the show and hearing all his hi jinx and capers.

  • Ep 229: Rich Carlisle (Footsore Miniatures)
    2025/03/07

In this episode I speak to Rich Carlisle now of Footsore Miniatures. Rich completes his hat-trick in this episode, the 3rd time he has been on the show, if you are interested in hearing his full story you can check out episode 34, episode 163 ish, its in there when we did the Paint All The Minis Online Convention, and this one.

Rich has always been a huge supporter of ours and I don't think that is anything to do with us, I think it is just down to his nature of wanting to support and assist people in their hobby journey and wanting to be a positive force for good in the hobby. I cant thank Rich enough for his chipper demeanour, can do attitude, and open mindedness whenever I have interacted with him. In the show we talk about him and his background a little, what he has learned on his professional journey working with some stellar names in the hobby world and we also talk about his role at Footsore and their catalogue of games.

Footsore husbands a number of miniature lines and games, we mention them during the show so if you haven't heard of them before then you can take a look see and they may interest you.
