  • Second Helpings - Hockey, But Make It Gay
    2025/12/05

This week on Second Helpings, Jackie and MJ are BAAACK, and start things off with DWTS, including the fact that it got sadly spoiled as they could not watch it live, but watching Alfonso Ribeiro get roasted by his kids (and looking like his soul left him) was great! JoJo Siwa danced through a burst ovarian cyst because she had a performance scheduled and WTF!??!, MaCaulay Culkin got booed for saying "Die Hard" ISN'T a Christmas movie, Kara and Jackie got tickets to the Mariah Carey Holiday bar!!!, and MJ got tickets for "Les Misérables: The Arena Concert Spectacular"! Jackie reveals she DIDN'T get poocraved with her advent calendar this year, Kevin Spacey is starting up a harmonic lounge show in Tel Aviv, plus Alexa and Brennon from "Love is Blind" are GETTIN' A DIVORCE-O! Quentin toesuckin Tarantino has some garbage thoughts on Paul Dano's acting performance with commentary from producer Adam! MJ's had a UTURN opinion on Lloyd Dobler and his boombox after a viewing + live Q&A with one Mr. John POOSACK, and Jackie's got a new show rec that she was surprised even Geoff liked, plus Jackie is learning about an all new type of penalty box with the discovery of hockey smut! All that and more on this week's Second Helpings!

  • For Good and Blue Balls w/ Natalie Jean
    2025/12/04

This week Jackie and MJ welcome LPN's Natalie Jean, to find out if that thangs green or not, as well as a good bit of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, including the complete disrespect shown to Mrs. Claus! Cynthia and Ariana continue to be attached at the hip in the ashes of the Wicked release, while Miley gives hope to weasel-faced men by announcing her engagement to Maxx Morando! "Stranger Things" Season 5 finally releases the children to their adulthoods, MJ and Jackie explain their love of Dancing with the Stars to Natalie, and Whitney Leavitt revealed she only did the newest season of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives so she could do DWTS, followed by an analysis of her dancing skills from expert Natalie! Then it's time for a list of 12 Facts That I learned That Sound Very Fake But Are Actually 100% REEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL, the Blindz, and a psychologically traumatizing 2parter Jackie's Snackies starts 'round 1:09:19.403 with MJ's Minute Munchies 'round 1:19:00.137 that runs until 1:24:52.074. All that and more on this week's Page 7!

  • CelebReadies: Joan Rivers' Enter Talking & Still Talking
    2025/11/28

It's time to kick back with some turkey day leftovers!

Joan Rivers, everyone. What a character. She's complicated. But this book is about the first seven years of her career, and it's fascinating. This is Joan in her own voice, describing how she spent her 20s, in the 1950s, as a single woman trying to make it as a stand up. We certainly understand people who don't like her jokes, and still, it's amazing to hear the story of how she got her first break. This is a one and done, but we'll be back next week with her next book, Still Talking!

Man, it just goes to show you how OPTIMISM is TERRIFYING. In this week's brand new book, we pick up a few decades after last week's book ended on its moment of beautiful, hopeful opportunity for Joan. This book is about how it all goes to shit. This book also really helps us understand how Joan Rivers became who she was to many of us who got to know her in the 90s and 2000s. This is a story of blind ambition, industry pissing contests, and professional and personal tragedy. Big ol' content note for discussions of suicide. This one is as much a list of grievances as it is a book, but if you're interested in show biz, it's a fascinating list of grievances!
