Iowa State Cyclones face mounting questions as quarterback Jalen Raynor's struggles spark debate—can the offense find its spark before the Big 12 schedule heats up? Nick Marovets breaks down the Cyclones’ uneven 2-2 start, spotlighting offensive concerns from Raynor’s 54% completion rate to a lack of explosive plays and red zone efficiency. Running backs like Aiden Flores and Cam Pettaway remain reliable, but poor third-down conversion rates and wide receiver separation threaten Iowa State’s bowl hopes.

On defense, the Cyclones show flashes of promise, from a dominant season-opening pass rush to holding Iowa under 100 rushing yards. Still, breakdowns against Utah and costly penalties raise alarms. Marovets offers concern meter ratings for every unit, candidly assesses self-inflicted mistakes, and previews the crucial showdown with West Virginia. Will Iowa State's defense keep them afloat while the offense finds answers? Cyclone fans, weigh in—just how concerned should you be?
