The Powell Economic Partnership is wanting the public's input and signatures on a petition to support a trail system for Powell and Park County that would connect communities and the country for both residents and visitors alike. Rebekah Burns, PEP Director, and Natalie Shouse, Outdoor Rec Planner with the AmeriCorp VISTA Program, spoke about the benefits of the Rails To Trails system which is a national program to connect paths and trails from Washington, DC to Washington State. The project would take paths and trails following the Platte River out of Nebraska, come through Casper, over the Big Horn Mountain, and snake its way through Park County, exit into Montana and Idaho, eventually winding up in Washington State.
