  • 19: Gas Stations, Ghost Cars & The Glitch That Lasted an Hour | Glitch in the Matrix Stories
    2026/03/20

Something is wrong with the road tonight.

A woman drives somewhere on Christmas night and her Google Maps says she never left home. Another stops at a gas station in Ohio at 2am - the cashier already knows her cigarette brand - and that station still hasn't opened yet. Seven friends stop for gas on a birthday road trip. They drive away as six. Nobody can remember who was missing.

This week on Overheard Online, we're reading the stories people post at 2am when something happened to them that they still can't explain.

In this episode: a Christmas night highway glitch and a Google Maps history rewrite, a gas station from the future, a seventh friend erased from reality at a creepy roadside stop, a beach café that has never existed, a woman who watched herself die at a stoplight, ghost cars on the highway, a coworker seen in two places at once, a doppelganger that walked like a robot, a tiger that became a stuffed animal, and a cinema that forgot to load.

Plus - a deep dive into one r/Paranormal thread where thousands of people answered: "What's the creepiest glitch in the matrix that's ever happened to you?"

Overheard Online is the podcast for real Reddit stories about glitches in the matrix, near-death experiences, time slips, doppelgangers, and things that can't be explained. New episodes weekly.

  • 17: Time Slips, Vanishing Cars & Reality Not Rendering || Glitch in the Matrix Stories
    2026/01/16

This is a solo, story-forward episode of Overheard Online.

In this installment, I take you through a long chain of firsthand accounts where reality seems to momentarily lose its footing - quietly, briefly, and without explanation. There’s no debate panel, no interviews, and no theories layered on top. Just the stories themselves, told as they were experienced and written.

Across these accounts, objects duplicate and vanish. Cars disappear mid-drive. Roads reset, exits repeat, and familiar routes lead somewhere else entirely. Time compresses, stretches, or drops out altogether. People freeze mid-movement. Faces and bodies appear pixelated or translucent. Sounds distort. Voices come through radios that shouldn’t be transmitting anything at all.

Some moments are witnessed by multiple people. Others are noticed by only one person in the room - sometimes becoming stranger when no one else seems to see what they saw.

The episode also moves through near-death experiences, altered states, and moments where consciousness appears to separate, expand, or observe from outside the body, raising the same recurring question: are these glitches external, internal, or something happening in the overlap between the two?

As always, these stories aren’t presented as proof or explanation. They’re shared exactly as they were lived - and exactly as they continue to linger with the people who experienced them.
