What if fear is not a sign that you are failing, but proof that you are outgrowing who you used to be?
In this episode of What’s the Gift?, Michael works with Trish, an interior designer and single mother of two who recently made a major life decision: she quit her second job to invest fully in her business.
Trish shares that even though her business is growing, she still struggles with fear, self-doubt, and the old belief that she is not good enough. After being in a relationship where her business was dismissed and her confidence was minimized, she now finds herself trying to build a bigger life while still hearing those old messages in her mind.
Michael challenges Trish to stop pretending she is not afraid. Instead of replacing fear with forced excitement, he invites her to face the fear directly and look at the truth. As Trish describes the fear in her body, the sleeplessness, the stress, the pressure of providing for her
children, and the weight of relying fully on her business, Michael helps her separate feelings from facts.
Through the conversation, Trish begins to see that the facts show she is doing well. Her business is having its best year, she is providing for herself and her children, and she is not unsafe in reality. The fear is not proof that she made the wrong decision. It is a signal that she is
growing beyond the old version of herself.
In this episode:
● Why “not good enough” is not a factual question
● How old beliefs can stay alive after a painful relationship
● Why choosing freedom can feel terrifying
● Why pretending fear is excitement does not actually heal fear
● How to face fear instead of avoiding it
● Why fear cannot stand up to truth
● How feelings and facts can tell different stories
● Why fear can be a sign that you are outgrowing yourself
● How to stay aligned with the person you want to become
● Why your security has to come from truth, not avoidance
If you are building something bigger while fear is still loud in your body, this episode is a reminder that fear is not the enemy. It is a message. Your job is not to avoid it. Your job is to outgrow it.
