In this episode, Ameé speaks with Michelle Morkert, a global gender scholar with a Ph.D. in women’s and gender studies and specializations in gender-based violence, militarism, girls' studies, and peace studies. And if you have ever felt like your gender identity is not what society expects it to be, you’re not alone. Michelle has studied the ways that rigid gender norms can cause past and present trauma in our lives. She wants to help people understand how this patriarchal system hurts everyone who is non-conforming to these rules, regardless of how they identify.
