This week, we’re welcoming a nightmare into the house with Other Mommy, Rob Savage’s supernatural horror film based on Josh Malerman’s Incidents Around the House. When eight-year-old Bela is tormented by an entity that looks just like her mother, her family must confront something far more terrifying than an imaginary friend.

With Jessica Chastain playing both mother and monster, the film has plenty of creepy potential. But does it deliver genuinely disturbing scares, or does it rely too heavily on an unsettling premise without enough substance to back it up? We’re discussing the performances, the atmosphere, and whether Other Mommy lives up to its nightmarish concept.
