Unlike normal hope, which is often uncertain and subject to change based on circumstances, living hope is anchored in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the unchanging character of God, rooted firmly in His promises rather than fluctuating worldly conditions. Living hope is a confident, active, and sustaining faith, far beyond mere wishful thinking.

The Bible teaches us that being righteous means standing approved before God. While we have all sinned and fallen short of His Glory, He still does not abandon us. If we look at God's covenant with Abraham, his faith in God's promise was credited to him as righteousness. The same was spoken of by Paul in Romans, and it is Jesus who gave Himself as the ultimate sacrifice and redeemed us from our sins. We wear that righteousness as a breastplate along with the shield of faith (part of the armour of God), as written in Ephesians 6. We are called to be thankful for Jesus bearing the full punishment of our sins on the cross, so that we can stand righteous before God and have a relationship with Him.
