For the sake of continuity in long-form actors' character work, Emily and Andrew watch a couple episodes out of airing order so they can fully capture Amanda Pays's "back nine" character development. Ha. Sadly not so much. Instead it's dream sequences, vanishing supporting players, public displays of affection, and hacky, hacky work all around. Don't miss it!

It's another bottle episode, if the bottle is a cell on death row with someone playing a sax the whole time, and Emily isn't particularly interested in hearing about the jazz. She and Andrew have an unpleasant task at hand: surveying a wanting episode with some baaaaaaaad acting, weird retro stuff, and less action than a "counting down the clock" episode should have... An invisible man has released a toxin into the Star Labs air supply and Barry's only got four hours to save Tina! Emily wasn't paying attention so Andrew mansplains why she would've loved the episode--cheesy invisible man special effects, women supporting women, sticking it to the mediocre white man, and some references to modern superhero movies Emily will never see! Plus a potentionally shocking reveal into how the Onesies sausage is made! Don't miss it!

It's another cyberpunk odyssey, this time with a retro flare as the bad guy travels to the future (albeit really slowly) and discovers a changed world but shockingly similar television broadcast technology. There's also Barry making a friend, gaining a mentor, Biff Manard singing, but mostly there's just Jason Bernard getting a great guest star role. Even with the interesting hair choices, our intrepid hosts Emily and Andrew get to have a good time. Especially with some of the special effects....

Emily and Andrew get to weigh in on the concept of the "showcase episode," in which a cast member gets to flex their acting chops in the spotlight. Unfortunately for THE FLASH and actor Mike Genovese, it turns out it's awkward when said actor doesn't have those chops. Our intrepid hosts also get to discuss how white Christian nationalists used to be the bad guys on CBS, how copaganda used to be pro-Gun Control, and all sorts of other depressing descents.

In an episode-long challenge to our intrepid hosts Emily and Andrew devout professionalism, this episode of THE FLASH requires the hosts not just to navigate cloying kids, but one of them a child actor with a tragic end, and talking about how 1960s references used to be a media standard... and how obnoxious they could get.
