What if the biggest obstacle standing between who you are and who you want to become isn't your ability, but your belief that change is actually possible? In this episode of On The Journey, we explore a simple but powerful idea: If you can think it, you can do it. For autistic men, it's easy to get stuck believing that the way we've always thought, communicated, responded, or behaved is simply the way we're wired. But just because something doesn't come naturally doesn't mean it can't be learned. We talk honestly about the difference between recognizing our limitations and allowing those limitations to define what's possible, and why meaningful growth often begins with the willingness to imagine ourselves doing something differently.

Together, we explore how intentional thinking can lead to intentional action, and how small, consistent steps can turn something that once felt impossible into something achievable. Whether it's becoming a better listener, learning to regulate emotions, showing empathy, or becoming a more emotionally mature husband and father, growth begins when we stop asking, "Is this just who I am?" and start asking, "What would it look like for me to grow?" Because thinking it doesn't automatically mean you can do it today—but it can be the first step toward learning how. And like everything we discuss on On The Journey, this isn't about ignoring the realities of autism or expecting perfection. It's about recognizing that our neurodiversity may influence how we grow, but it doesn't have to determine whether we grow.
