Erich and Kevin recap Friday and Saturday, September 18-19, 2026, then update the Cold War: which conference is best right now?

SEC still owns the head-to-head argument. Conferences are wide open. NIL killed the easy win.

FEATURED RESULTS

Ole Miss 32-24 LSU — Circus game of the year. Trinidad Chambliss is the best QB in the country. Pete Golding 5-1 vs ranked to start. Sam Leavitt fought. Ole Miss goes to the Swamp next.

Kentucky 31-21 Texas A&M — Upset of the week. Will Stein’s second half was clean. Kenny Minchey 14-of-18, 250-plus. Keep Marcel Reed in the pocket. Kentucky is not a layup.

Florida 44-39 Auburn — Erich’s game of the week. First Gators trip to Jordan-Hare since 2011. Jaden Baugh 162 and 3 TDs. Florida 495 yards. Auburn’s line still cannot protect Byron Brown.

Mississippi State 41-34 South Carolina — Down 16-0 in Williams-Brice. Kamario Taylor took the game over. Bulldogs 3-0. Super Camario is must-watch.

Texas Tech 28-26 Houston — Two-point conversion missed by millimeters. Both hosts picked Houston. Tech keeps winning. Schedule still avoids BYU and Utah.

West Virginia 38-27 Virginia — Neutral site. Michael Hawkins Jr. and a mash-mouth offensive line. Rich Rodriguez looks home. Virginia is not an ACC title lock.

USC 42-35 Rutgers — Point-spread letdown cashed. 460-460 yards. Prophet Brown’s 99-yard pick-six saved Lincoln Riley. Without it, Rutgers wins. Oregon comes to town.

Alabama 50-36 Florida State — Tide won and did not cover 19.5. Seminoles led 21-6. Norvell’s seat stays hot. Bama defense has holes.

Louisville 41-31 SMU — Keyjuan Brown 163 on 10 carries. Kevin Jennings threw two picks. Kevin had Louisville. Erich had SMU if Jennings played clean. He did not.

ALSO COVERED

Notre Dame 27-10 Michigan State — Irish are not No. 3. Run game still stuck. Fitzgerald’s Spartans hung around.

Oklahoma 14-6 New Mexico — Brent Venables: nothing on offense to hang a hat on. John Mateer. Georgia next.

Northwestern 41-7 Colorado. Miami 33-20 Wake Forest, Deacs covered. Vanderbilt’s insane ending vs NC State.

QUOTES

“These conferences are wide open.”

“There are no off weeks anymore.”

“If Prophet Brown does not have that ninety-nine yard pick six, Rutgers wins.”

“Trinidad Chambliss is the best quarterback in the country.”
