Oklahoma State’s basketball team is hitting the ground running with a nationally televised non-conference slate, opening the 2026-27 season against Minnesota and Virginia Tech on ESPN and ESPN2. The Cowboys are now locked in for five high-major matchups — including Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Northwestern — boosting their exposure and recruiting profile. With 18 Big 12 games plus 23 high-major opponents by the conference tournament, OSU is setting its sights on national attention through strategic scheduling and prime TV slots.

Oklahoma State basketball is in a fierce race to land top-five small forward Moussa Kamissoko, who’s averaging 15+ points at camps and could be the game-changer they need for 2027. With his official visit timed perfectly after the football team’s big upset win, Coach Lutz hopes the electric campus energy will seal the deal — especially since OSU currently has just one commitment in the class. Kamissoko’s already visited Florida State and has multiple elite schools on his schedule, meaning OSU must wait until November to hear his decision. His skillset, compared to NBA star Cade Cunningham, makes him a rare talent — and if he picks Stillwater, it could be the start of something special.

Oklahoma State’s season opener ended in a brutal 24-10 loss to Tulsa, marking their 12th straight FBS defeat—the longest active streak in college football. New coach Eric Morris watched his team struggle offensively from the start, as quarterback Drew Mestemaker underperformed and an offensive lineman went down early. Despite having more resources and history, Tulsa outplayed them again, capitalizing on penalties and key turnovers—including a red-zone interception that sealed the game. The Cowboys’ offense couldn’t find rhythm, converting poorly on crucial downs and failing to sustain drives. With Oregon ranked 2 looming next week, OSU must turn things around fast—or risk another crushing defeat.
