Oilers trade rumours and Baggedmilk's Olympic trivia

It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers at the Olympics, Team Canada's line combinations, a potential trade idea for Andrew Mangiapane, and much more.

We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the L.A. Dodgers and how the odds for them to win the NL West in the MLB are so heavily skewed that it almost doesn't make sense to bet on. That led to a similar conversation about whether Canada vs. USA is a lock to meet in the men's finals, and whether being the two best teams in the tournament on paper means this will be the matchup.

Changing gears, we looked at the line combinations for Team Canada on the men's side. Given that Team Canada is pretty close to icing an all-star team, it was fun to hear the boys' thoughts on who will be playing where. They also looked at the advanced betting lines ahead of Thursday's game against Czechia and how everyone thinks the team will fare despite the different style of hockey played in international tournaments.

Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. With none of the other boys coming up with anything new, the guys went back to old faithful with a round of Olympics-related Baggedmilk Trivia questions. Think you know your Olympic Winter Games history? This round of trivia was for you. Did the quizmaster have to step in? Did Baggedmilk get his questions right? You'll have to listen to find out for sure.

  • Was Trading For Jarry A Mistake? The Oilers Goaltending Situation Explained
    2026/02/07

Ask Dubey is back for episode 32!

Before diving into your Oilers questions, Dubey reacts to the wild Stadium Series matchup between the Lightning and Bruins — including an old-school goalie fight at center ice between Jeremy Swayman and Andrei Vasilevskiy. A rare sight, even rarer that both goalies stayed in the game. Dubey breaks down why moments like that fire everyone up, and why goalie fights are still such a tricky situation in today’s NHL.

From there, it’s straight into your questions. Who’s really to blame in a blowout — the goalie or the team in front of him? Can players mentally drift with the Olympics right around the corner? And of course, the big one Oilers fans are debating right now: did Edmonton make a mistake trading for Tristan Jarry?

Dubey gives a calm, honest breakdown of the Oilers’ goaltending situation, why the Skinner change needed to happen, and why fans shouldn’t be riding the emotional roller coaster on a game-to-game basis. Perspective, context, and goalie logic — all in one episode.

Drop your questions for future episodes using #AskDubey in the comments or on any OilersNation social platform.

0:00 – Stadium Series chaos & goalie fight reaction

2:40 – Who’s really responsible for blowout losses?

5:23 – Do players mentally check out before the Olympics?

7:55 – Did the Oilers make a mistake trading for Jarry?

  • The Oilers' rough run into the break, coaching changes, and healthy scratches
    2026/02/06

It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' disastrous wrap to their pre-Olympic schedule, Leon Draisaitl's coaching comments, line combos, and more.

We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Paul Coffey rumours after some rumblings came over the last handful of days that the Oilers could be considering bringing the Hall of Famer back behind the bench. Given how successful the defence was under Coffey's tenure, the boys on the podcast all believe it would make perfect sense to bring him back and see if he can work magic again.

Shifting gears, the guys looked at the Oilers' horrible finish before the break and how incredibly frustrating it was to watch them finally land their first three-game win streak of the season, only to give those games right back immediately. That led the boys to wonder if there are more coaching issues than just what's happening on defence. We also discussed the losses to Toronto and Calgary and how frustrating both results were, given Edmonton's opportunity to pick up points against struggling teams.

Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. With the 2025-26 season past the midway points, the guys spent the bulk of the podcast moving through a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that’s the way things go on the Friday episode of ONR.

  • Connor McDavid's Love Letter To Edmonton
    2026/02/03

It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' record against the best teams, Connor McDavid's Players' Tribune article, Calvin Pickard clearing waivers, and much more.

We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about how concerned everyone is that the Oilers can't seem to beat the best teams in the Western Conference. If you look at the six games played against Colorado, Dallas, and Minnesota, the Oilers earned only a single point out of a possible 12. As you'll hear, some of the boys are more concerned about the trend than others, but the reality is that the numbers are the numbers, and right now they're not very good.

Changing gears, we looked at Connor McDavid's Players' Tribune article and noted that the title "Dear Canada" could have been a love letter to Edmonton. Turning back to the Oilers, we looked at Calvin Pickard clearing waivers this week, and what that means for the team's goaltending depth going forward. The guys also discussed the Artemi Panarin rumours after David Pagnotta reported on Oilersnation Everyday that the Oilers could be in the mix for the sniper.

Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. With none of the other boys coming up with anything new, the guys went back to old faithful with a round of Devils-related Baggedmilk Trivia questions. Think you know your Toronto Maple Leafs history? This game was for you. Did the quizmaster have to step in? Did Baggedmilk get his questions right? You'll have to listen to find out for sure.

  • Oilers Goaltending Questions + Are the Oilers a Free-Agent Destination?
    2026/01/31

Ask Dubey Episode 31 is here, and there’s a LOT to get into — from historic Oilers defencemen performances to big-picture questions about goaltending, free agents, and life in Edmonton.

Dubey kicks things off by showing love to the Oilers’ blue line after back-to-back hat tricks from defencemen (yes, really), breaking down Evan Bouchard’s Bouch Bombs and Mattias Ekholm’s unreal highlight-reel goals. If the Oilers can get even half of this kind of production from the back end consistently, it could be a massive boost heading toward playoff time.

From there, Dubey answers your questions, including:

    • Has Jarry officially earned the Oilers’ starting job?

    • Where does Edmonton’s goaltending duo rank across the NHL?

    • How valuable is having a true goalie tandem in an Olympic, condensed schedule year?

    • Has Edmonton become a more desirable destination for free agents?

    • How different is the city now compared to Dubey’s playing days?

We also get some great storytelling as Dubey shares his most memorable moments as an Oiler, including his NHL debut in Vancouver, a wild win in LA that helped earn a one-way contract, and getting the opening-night start against Pittsburgh.

As always, this episode is packed with insight, honesty, and a few laughs along the way.

  • The Oilers finally have a win streak going!
    2026/01/30

It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' win over the Sharks, the Bobby McMann trade rumours, Connor McDavid's heater, line combos, and more.

We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Oilers' bottom six and how Kris Knoblauch can get more out of those players even though they're playing limited minutes. From finding roles for players who don't play much to stripping back the minutes for McDavid and Draisaitl, the boys offered their take on what the coaching staff can do to get more guys involved. On the other hand, is this even a problem?

Shifting gears, the guys looked at last night's win over the San Jose Sharks and how the Oilers pulled off a third-period miracle to win their third game in a row. Starting with Kris Knoblauch pulling the goalie with four minutes left, the guys talked about where they were and how they felt when they saw the Oilers throw up the Hail Mary. From there, they spoke about Macklin Celebrini trying to wave off Mattias Ekholm's

  • Oilers get record-setting production from their defence
    2026/01/27

It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' record-setting run by defencemen, Josh Samanski's NHL debut, and much more.

We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Josh Samanski's NHL debut, and how everyone thought the undrafted centre fared in his first game as an Oiler. While he played only 7:43 in TOI, Samanski was noticeable in his first game in the bigs, and the boys spent a few minutes talking about how he didn't look out of place. Given that he played two years of pro hockey in Germany, it definitely looked like he was comfortable playing in that third-line role.

Changing gears, we looked at how the Oilers set two NHL records in Monday's game against the Ducks. Starting with the four goals by defencemen in a span of only 3:49, it was wild to see Edmonton's d-men getting into the rush with that much space as often as they were. From there, we looked at the back-to-back hat tricks by Evan Bouchard and Mattias Ekholm, and how it was the first time in NHL history where two defencemen scored hat tricks in consecutive games.

Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. With none of the other boys coming up with anything new, the guys went back to old faithful with a round of Devils-related Baggedmilk Trivia questions. Think you know your San Jose Sharks history? • Why the Oilers Are Finally Getting Elite Goaltending + Is Canadian Goaltending Falling Behind?
    2026/01/24

Ask Dubey is back, and Episode 28 dives into elite goaltending, goalie development, and some big-picture questions around the Edmonton Oilers’ crease.

Devan Dubnyk kicks things off by breaking down Tristan Jarry’s unreal highlight-reel save, why athletic “street hockey” moments still matter for goalies, and what makes that play so special from a goalie’s perspective. From there, Dubey tackles fan questions ranging from rebound control and goalie pad technology to the state of Canadian goaltending and what the Oilers should do with their goalie situation when everyone is healthy.

In this episode of Ask Dubey, Devan breaks down:

    • Why Tristan Jarry’s save against New Jersey was so impressive — and how it compares to saves Dubey made in his own career

    • The idea behind modern goalie pads, rebounds, and whether big rebounds are actually a problem

    • Why elite goaltending pipelines seem to be shifting away from Canada

    • The differences in goalie development between Canada, Europe, and the U.S.

    • What the Edmonton Oilers should do with their goalies at full health

    • Why carrying three goalies could actually benefit Edmonton down the stretch

If you’re a goalie, a die-hard Oilers fan, or someone who loves the details behind how the position is evolving, this episode is for you.

Have a question you want Devan Dubnyk to answer on a future episode? Drop it in the comments below or use #AskDubey on social media, and we’ll pull from there for an upcoming show.
