    2026/05/18

"Hey, guys. Whoa, Podcasts, huh? All right! Well, see you later" - The boys are back to lighten the mood a bit after last week as Dave takes 1994's Dumb and Dumber off the shelf this week. Phil admits to not having watched it in many years but can still remember so much of the movie. He shares that he probably quotes this movie once a week. Dave recalls his love of Jim Carrey and how it related to hie "peak Dave" period of the mid-90's. They both agree that the plot of the film is inconsequential and the performances of Daniels and Carrey are the key to his hilarious film. It is surprising that one of the directors has an Oscar considering how few of their movies are any good after this one.

"That's the way it crumbles... podcast-wise" - The boys like their black and white with a dash of Lemmon as Phil takes 1960's The Apartment off the shelf this week. Dave had never seen it before but enjoyed seeing another Jack Lemmon performance though he thinks the first half to be stronger than the second. Phil loved watching another Billy Wilder film and enjoys the great writing and a stand out performance by Shirley Maclaine. While both agree the film isn't as funny as it may have been marketed as, they find the willingness to tackle some edgy material to be a surprise and ultimately make it a compelling watch.

Dace also (fill in blank) - There aren't really any likable characters here but we liked it anyway.
